Makerspace

The ECE Makerspace is located at MCLD 1018 within the eHUB.

The Makerspace is a workspace for hands-on course-related or research projects, including woodworking, metalworking, and electronics.
The space is equipped with various machinery, tools, workbenches, soldering stations, and 3D printers for building, repairing, and prototyping.

Eligibility

The Makerspace is for ECE faculty, ECE staff, and actively enrolled ECE students

Getting Started

To access the Makerspace, you must first complete the Makerspace safety training. Click the “Makerspace Training” tab for more information.

Note: If you are an ECE undergraduate Student, Safety 101 is a prerequisite for attending the Makerspace safety training.

Hours of Operation

The Makerspace is open on weekdays, excluding statutory holidays. Hours each day are subject to change, please see the Makerspace calendar below for the most up-to-date hours.

Access

Students are allowed to work in the Makerspace under staff supervision and only after completing the Makerspace safety training.

The Makerspace operates as either appointment-only or walk-in sessions.
Walk-ins are sometimes restricted to students enrolled in specific courses. For more details, click on the specific calendar event in the Makerspace calendar below.
To book a session during the appointment-only periods, please click on the “Booking” tab. Certain instructions apply.
Note: Appointment requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance
