eHUB Policies

Eligibility
  • The ECE eHub space and services are exclusively for use of ECE members.
Access and Use
  • Access is possible upon completion of a dedicated safety training.
  • ECE students must provide valid identification to access the ECE eHub.
  • Use of the ECE eHub facilities and resources is strictly for educational and research purposes within the ECE department.
Booking and Reservations
Resource Allocation
  • Priority is given to ECE course support during reserved time blocks as indicated on the eHub calendar.
  • All other activities are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Personal projects unrelated to ECE educational activities or research are not permitted.
  • Borrowing materials, consumables, equipment, or tools for projects outside of eHub scope is not allowed.
Conduct and Responsibility
  • Users must adhere to ECE eHub safety workplace protocols.
  • Users are responsible for keeping equipment and workspaces in good condition.
  • Users are responsible for returning tools to their designated locations and following the equipment shutdown procedure.
  • Any damage or misuse must be reported immediately to ECE eHub staff.
Support and Assistance
  • ECE eHub staff is available to assist users at the eHub as well as to provide technical consultations to the ECE community, but limited to ECE-related activities..
  • Technical support for non-ECE projects or activities is not provided.
  • Technical support for ECE will be provided exclusively during office hours.
Compliance
  • All users must comply with UBC’s policies and regulations while using the ECE eHub.
  • Non-compliance may result in the loss of ECE eHub privileges.
