Capstone Equipment Pool

Borrowing rules:

Please email Engineering Services (engservices@ece.ubc.ca) if you would like to borrow items from the equipment pool.
Items can be signed out under the following conditions:

• Holds are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis
• Maximum loan period is indicated for each item below
• Renewals at the end of the loan period are allowed
• Items must be returned at the end of a week block if a hold has been placed by another group

Students are expected to return borrowed items, in the condition they were provided, within the expected duration or by the end of the course – whichever takes precedence – or when requested by staff or faculty.

Items may be reserved in advance. Indicating more than one set of dates is discouraged but permitted; if more than one set of dates is indicated, priority will be given to another Capstone group should they request the items indicated for the second date set and onwards – priority will always be given for the first set of dates in a loan request in order to discourage monopolization.

Please inspect borrowed equipment upon receiving them for damages or defects [base condition damage] and report the issues, if any, to Engineering Services; students are liable for damages done to borrowed equipment, including any unreported [base condition damage].

When placing a hold please include the following details:

• Group number and project name
• Items to borrow and their quantities
• Intended use of equipment
• Loan period (start and end dates)

The above information will aid us in processing your requests and may lead to faster response times.

The table below shows items for Capstone students to borrow.  ECE reserves the right to modify or amend any of the information found in this table.  Quantities shown indicate the total stock quantity and are not indicative of the amount of items available at any given point.
