eMachineShop

The Mechanical Fabrication Facility provides specialized machining and fabrication services tailored for Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) research and project needs. This dedicated workshop is equipped with advanced mechanical tools and staffed by experienced technicians who assist with precision manufacturing, prototyping, and custom part fabrication.

NOTE: The Mechanical Fabrication Facility operates independently from the eHub makerspace.

While the Makerspace, located inside the eHUB, offers a workspace equipped with rapid prototyping tools, primarily supporting students and faculty in early-stage design and experimentation. The eWorkShop, by contrast, focuses on high-precision mechanical manufacturing, with machinist technician support and access to specialized manufacturing equipment and expertise.

Users should consider the Mechanical Fabrication Facility for projects requiring:

  • Precision machining

  • Metal welding, woodworking or general assembly fabrication

  • Custom mechanical component production

  • Technician-assisted fabrication workflows

LOCATION: MCLD 1034 (See Facilities)
WORK HOURS: 9:00-12:00 AM to 1:00-5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Subject to change without notice)
